About the company

A small East Gippsland support provider with a very deliberate way of working

Empowering Hearts Support Services Pty Ltd is an Australian proprietary limited company based in Victoria, supporting people living with disability and the families around them.

Who we are

Registered in Australia, working in the region we live in

The company operates from VIC 3875, in the Bairnsdale area of East Gippsland, and provides support in people's homes and out in the towns around them. Everything we do is arranged directly with the participant and the people they choose to involve.

Regional support has constraints that metropolitan services do not: longer drives between visits, fewer available workers, and services that can be an hour away. We plan for those constraints rather than pretending they are not there, which is why we take on work close to home and grow slowly.

Empowering Hearts is a small operation on purpose. It means the person answering an email is the person who knows the roster.

How we work

Four commitments that shape every shift

These are the things we will not trade away when a week gets busy.

Choice stays with the person

We support decisions and offer information. We do not decide how somebody should live, eat, spend their day or spend their money.

Safety without fuss

Manual handling, hygiene, medication prompts and incident reporting are done properly and recorded, not improvised on the day.

Everything written down

Agreed tasks, changes to a roster and anything unusual during a shift are documented, so families and coordinators are never working from memory.

Who we work with

Participants, families, carers and coordinators

Most enquiries reach us from one of four places: a person arranging their own support, a family member looking for regular help at home, a carer who needs cover, or a support coordinator sourcing capacity in the region.

Whoever makes the first contact, the arrangement is written with the participant. Anyone else stays involved to exactly the extent the participant wants them to.

Before we take on new work, we check

  • Whether the location is one we can reach reliably, in all weather.
  • Whether we have a worker who genuinely suits the person.
  • Whether the hours asked for can be held week after week.
  • Whether another provider would be a better fit — and we will say so.

If the answer to any of these is no, we tell you at the enquiry stage rather than after a service agreement is signed.

Next step

Ask us whether we have capacity

Send the town, the support you are looking for and your preferred start date. You will get a straight answer either way.
